Food Booth Fire Department Rules & Regulations

All of the following are to be completely adhered to before any flame or cooking is started. If any of the below is not completely adhered to at any time the vendor may not participate in the Farmers’ Market and can be terminated immediately without written notice.

1.  One minimum 20-B:C rated fire extinguisher, in operable condition and valid service date, shall be provided in each cooking booth.
   

2.  Cooking devices using propane must have the propane cylinders outside the booth and properly secured in an upright position to prevent tripping over.
    

3.  All fittings and hoses used with propane shall be secured tightly and approved for such use by an approved testing laboratory.
    

4.  Limit of one propane cylinder per appliance. Propane cylinder size is limited to 5.76 gallon capacity. Total Propane amounts shall be limited to 20 gallons per vendor. Replacement propane tanks may be stored in vehicles not in the Farmers Market premises.

 

5.  Flammable liquids shall not be used to start charcoal. Exception – approved charcoal lighter fluid.
   
  

6.  No open flame cooking under canopies.
    
  

7.  Deep fat fryers or any cooking device capable of splashing hot oil or water shall be located to the rear of the booth.

 

8.  A minimum of 3 feet clearance must be provided between the public and the cooking device by a barricade.
    
  

9.  Seating shall be a minimum of 15’ from booths with open flame devices or cooking appliances.
    

10.  All fire lanes shall be clear of vehicles and equipment at all times.
    
11.  Only 3 prong extension cords shall be used.
    
12.  Canopies shall be of a flame-retarded material and have State of California Fire Marshall flame certification.
    
  

13.  All decorative materials and fabric shall be inherently flame proof or properly treated in booths that have open flame devices or cooking appliances.
    
14.  All cooking food booths shall have a copy of Fire Department requirements for cooking in their booth.
    
15.  No smoking within 25 feet of the propane cylinder and no smoking inside the tent or canopy.
    
16.  There shall be a competent adult in cooking booths at all times to insure safety.
    
17.  At the termination of use, the embers and ashes shall be safely disposed of.

Northridge Farmers’ Market Rules & Regulations

 

  1. Please read all rules and regulations before submitting an application

  2. NO vehicles under any circumstances shall drive or park over the black electrical lines, or in and over any of the landscaping, and if seen a $50 repair assessment will be required at the time of each occurrence.
  3. No cars are allowed in the Market area walkways after 4:00 pm sharp and before 9:00 pm and at no time shall any vehicle or equipment stop at, park, or block handicap: parking locations, thoroughfares, accesses, or ramps.
  4. THERE SHALL BE NO DUMPING OF ANY TYPE OF GREASE IN THE ANDY GUMP porta-potties! If grease is dumped into the porta-potties a $100 dollar cleaning fee. The fee will be required at the time of each occurrence.
  5. Also, watch out for, do not hit or get close to the yellow electrical boxes, and if seen a $25 repair assessment will be required at the time of each occurrence.
  6. YOU MUST CLEAN UP YOUR AREA & ALL YOUR TRASH AFTER THE EVENT. THERE SHALL NOT BE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES AT ANY TIME DUMPING OF ANY TYPE OF LIQUID OR TRASH IN OR ON THE LANDSCAPING OR IN THE STORM DRAINS
  7. The Coastal Pacific Market workers can pick up Market vendors’ trash bags only between 5 pm to 8:45 pm, and only if the Market vendor notifies the worker.
  8. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR TRASH, EMPTY BOXES, OR EMPTY CONTAINERS ON THE GROUND IN THE DUMPSTER ROOM, BY THE TRASH CANS PROVIDED FOR THE CUSTOMERS, OR ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE MARKET (parking lot) AT ANY TIME and if seen or done a $25 fee will be required at the time of occurrence.
  9. YOU MUST TAKE AND PLACE ALL YOUR TRASH INTO THE DUMPSTERS. THE ONLY DUMPSTER FOR USE IS LOCATED BELOW THE "RED" PACIFIC THEATER SIGN!
  10. No equipment, trash, products, or anything shall be put in or on any of the landscaping at any time. No participants shall step into or touch the landscaping at any time.
  11. If any trash is left in the Market area or on the ground by any dumpsters after 10:30 pm, every vendor who stays past 10:30 pm shall each be responsible to a $25 assessment.
  12. All Market vendors’ vehicles that are not parked in the Market, shall park their vehicles in the designated common area that is the two rows of the southeast corner of Tampa and the Mall driveway entrance in front of Macy's or in the far west comer of the Pacific Theaters lot along Shirley Avenue not near Macaroni Grill restaurant. Parking in the designated area is a city regulation and is to prevent congestion and allows customers to come and park at the Market.
  13. Crafters and Temporary Food Facility permits may not have their vehicles in the Market near their location. The Health Department states that only Mobile Food Facility permits and Farmers may have their cars near their location. Crafters have only a 10 X 10-foot space.

 

Galleria @ Tyler Riverside Farmers’ Market Rules & Regulations

  3. You must clean up your area & all your trash after the event. Do not dump any liquid or trash in the landscaping or in the storm drains.
  4. Do not leave your trash, empty boxes, or empty containers on the ground by the dumpster, by the trash cans provided for the customers, or parking lot.
  5. You must take and place all the trash into the dumpsters or take it with you.
  6. No equipment, trash, products, or anything shall be put in or on any of the landscaping at any time. No participants shall step into or touch the landscaping at any time.
  7. If any trash is left in the Market area or on the ground by any dumpsters after 2:30 pm, every vendor who stays past 2:30 pm shall each be responsible for a $25 assessment.
  8. All Market vendors’ vehicles that are not parked in the Market, shall park their vehicles in the designated common area that is the two rows immediately in front of Macy's. Parking in the designated area is in order to prevent congestion and allows customers to come and park at the Market.

  10. Sales amount comparison to and the amount of similar products at the Market is one basis in determining space size and location.
  11. Coastal Pacific LLC can change the availability and products allowed to be sold with a seven-day notice.
  12. Coastal Pacific LLC can change the location and space size of any vendor at any time, for any reason that may occur without notice.
  13. Space prices are based on product and location, not on the size of the space.
